Templestowe Memorial Reserve
Templestowe Memorial Reserve holds profound significance for the Manningham community, serving as the venue for two annual commemorative events: ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day, which honor the service and sacrifice of our military personnel.
Established in the early 1990s, the reserve required modernization to better serve its purpose. The Manningham Council’s vision for the redevelopment was to create a contemporary, dignified, and reflective space that accommodates large gatherings for ANZAC Day ceremonies while providing a serene environment for individual moments of remembrance.
Our collaboration with Manningham City Council was instrumental in realizing their vision for the revitalized Templestowe Memorial Reserve. Working closely with the council and incorporating valuable input from local RSL branches, we designed a venue featuring amphitheatre-style seating, expansive lush lawns, and a sophisticated colour palette inspired by Canberra’s iconic ANZAC Parade. This thoughtful design ensures a fitting tribute to our service members while enhancing the reserve’s functionality and aesthetic appeal.
After securing the project through a competitive tender process, Urbania executed a comprehensive hard and soft landscaping package for the Templestowe Memorial Reserve. Works completed on site included demolition, civil and bulk earthworks, drainage and electrical, installation of 330m² of exposed aggregate hard surfaces, including feature steps, bluestone cobble paving, construction of curved retaining walls and in-situ concrete curved seating, custom raised Anzac Mural platform with a corten steel surround and bespoke in-situ concrete seating, the project concluded with soft landscaping, including garden beds and turf.
